Monumental Memories

This quilt was made in 2011 to commemorate the Colorado National Monument’s 100 year Anniversary in Grand Junction, Colorado. Local residents recorded their favorite memories of the monument in a signature block. The medallion center was created using blended threadwork based on Dr. Rob Kurtzman’s original photograph. Photographs (14) on canvas by Dr. Rob Kurtzman are inset in button envelopes.
